The idea for The Cleveland Way was conceived by the Teesside Ramblers Association in the 1930s. The association wanted a long-distance path that would connect footpaths on the Yorkshire Coast, the Cleveland Escarpment and the Hambleton Drove Road. The 1950s saw the submission of a formal proposal to the North Riding of Yorkshire Council and in 1969 the trail was officially opened. The Cleveland Way is a much loved part of North Yorkshire and our extensive gallery includes canvas prints, photos, pictures and a varied selection of images captured by our local landscape photographer Laurie Smithies. Each photo is produced to exceptional standards with the use of industry best printing processes and our pictures and canvases are of the finest quality. If you are looking for a photo or canvas print reflecting the many sensational locations and sights to be discovered along the 109 mile walk we carry a vast selection of high quality images that accurately capture its awe-inspiring beauty.
The Cleveland Way is so special as it offers many different landscapes. Our gallery contains pictures, photos and canvases that perfectly echo the exquisiteness of the trail and the world of views to be enjoyed. From an image depicting the dramatic excitement of the coast to a sublimely picturesque photo of the moorlands there is something for everyone in our range of professionally produced canvas prints and pictures.
The inland section of the trail heads west from Helmsley before leading north and then east around the North York Moors National Park. It leaves the park close to Guisborough and meets Saltburn coast. Just north of Staithes, the trail re-enters the park and the coastal section follows the coast to Whitby. The trail then exits the National Park for the last time to meet Scarborough and Filey. This spectacular walk provides a veritable feast of scenery and our collection holds canvas prints and photos that reflect the remarkable combination of moor and coast that gives the walk its unique identity.
Like so many others, we hold the eclectic landscapes of North Yorkshire close to our hearts which is why we offer nothing less than an elegant gallery. When printing each photo and canvas print we use the very latest technology and adhere to extremely high standards. Whether you select canvases or photos your images will serve as a timeless reminder of one of the most idyllic and beautiful parts of the country.
One of the most rewarding aspects of landscape photography is capturing the true essence of naturally mesmerising places. Many of our images are taken at different times of the day and night, allowing us to offer truly captivating photos and canvas prints. We know that our customers want canvases and photos that they can enjoy forever which is why the diligence and quality of our work is reflected in our printing. We love to produce the perfect photo or canvas print for every customer and we approach the printing stage with extreme diligence.
Each canvas print and photo of images taken on the trail tells a tale. Cleveland Way to Roseberry Topping shows an iridescent sky illuminating the purple heather that covers the moor against the backdrop of Roseberry Topping and the telling signs of the mining activities so evident on her distinctive slopes. From wintry images such as Danby Sheep and Farndale Snow to the golden beauty of Coast and Cottage Sunset and Cod and Lobster Staithes Sunrise we have a fantastic collection of images that will take your breath away.
