The Grand Hotel Scarborough

The Grand Hotel Scarborough. Built in the shape of a ‘V’ to honour Queen Victoria it was once one of the biggest hotels in Europe; and holds sway over the longest resort on the Yorkshire coast. The town of Scarborough sill remains a favourite destination for many; and it has undergone much re generation in recent years to complement its other great attractions like the Scarborough castle and Sea Life Sanctuary. Scarborough also boasts many shops and restaurants to golden sands beaches at North and South Bay and a mini fair ground on the sea front. Scarborough is over looked by Oliver’s Mount which is a monument to the war dead. The Mount was named after Oliver Cromwell who is reputed to have had a gun position here during the civil war.
