Staithes Winter Sunset
A glorious sunset taken on a winters evening; at Cowbar over looking the village of Staithes. Cowbar Nab offers a fantastic view of the old fishing village; but proceed with caution as the nab has little in the way of fences. From here we can see the cottages built on the side of Roxby Beck; as it flows out into the Harbour. Cobbles and other boats are moored ; sheltered by the break water. Once this quite village on the Yorkshire Coast; was one of of the busiest fishing ports in Great Britain. Staithes folk have always had a connection to the sea; most famously Captain James Cook who was a resident for a time.
