Staithes Night Panoramic

One of my favourite views of on the Yorkshire Coast captured from Cowbar; Staithes night panoramic. High above the village this location offers a fantastic view of the old fishing port. Roxby beck runs past the village, with the traditional cobbles moored safely under the bridge. The bridge from Staithes to Cowbar forms part of the Cleveland Way; shortly before passing the house of “Old Jack” from the TV show.  Staithes plays a part in the Captain Cook story; with James been an apprentice in the village. Today tradition industries have faded for most; but the Yorkshire Coast has now become of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK.  Whitby, Saltburn and Staithes have all seen hugh increases in visitors over the last decade; partly fueled by the success of the TV series Heartbeat.  A drama set in the 1960s; it follows the life of a village bobby investigating all the incidents around the North Riding. The subsequent filming around the area combined with the shows success; helped promote the towns and villages of North Yorkshire around the world.
