Coast Guard Cottage
The old Coastguard cottage on the edge of Boulby Cliffs gazes across the North Sea as a glorious sunset warms the sky over the Tees Bay. The Cottage was used in the recent Dads Army movie that was filmed along the Yorkshire Coast.
This stunning location located on The Cleveland Way National Trail sits on the slopes of some of the highest cliffs in England. The double cliffs near Boulby have a distinctive shape due to heavy mining activities where Alum was dug from the cliffs and transported by sea by flat bottom boats that would wait in Hummersea’s Old Harbour near Skinningrove.
