Duerley Beck flows through historic market town of Hawes in Upper Wensleydale. At 850ft Hawes is the highest town in England but is more famous for been the home of Wensleydale Cheese and has a large creamery in the town which is worth visiting. Hawes is also a popular destination for Bikers who travel through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales to reach here and enjoy the food and drink the town is well known for. Hawes is also home to The Dales Country Side Museum and The Hawes Rope Maker. Tourism to Hawes is also boosted by the proximity to the Gayle Mill and Hardraw Force the highest single drop waterfall in England.
