Duerley Beck flows through the middle of this picturesque and historic mill village, a mile from Hawes in Upper Wensleydale. Gayle Mill still houses the world’s oldest operational turbine and the area is particularly beautiful in the spring when wild Daffodils line the riverbank. Close to the highest town in England Hawes; this part of Wensleydale also attracts tourist from all over the world. Some of the famous Wensleydale cheese is produce less than a mile from here. Locally is also the impressive Hardraw Force from the Movie Robin Hood Prince of Thieves which had scenes shot in North Yorkshire.
