The Shambles York
North Yorkshire, the largest county in England, can perhaps be described as an idyll; a little piece of paradise on earth. Its diverse landscape consists of breath-taking coastlines, beautiful expansive moorland, and quaint picturesque villages. Also to be found within the county is the ancient city of York, rich in history and culture. One of the most interesting and prominent features of the city is York Minster, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Northern Europe. Also, amongst the many other interesting features of the city, is the shambles, a narrow shop lined medieval street. With its beautiful scenery and interesting towns, cities and villages, North Yorkshire is a delight for photographers, and here at the North Yorkshire Gallery we aim to bring a little of this outstanding county into the homes of our customers.
