Blakey Ridge Snow
Blakey Ridge after heavy snowfall back in 2015. After watching the forecast a learning snow was expected on the Yorkshire Coast; i took the opportunity for some winter photography on the Yorkshire Moors. Making the short journey to Danby and then onto Castleton; i noticed this lovely winter scene high on Blakey Ridge. Not far from the Lion Inn this location overlooks the beautiful Danby Dale; which is the backdrop to this photograph. Snow sits on the dry stone walls which are familiar in Yorkshire; and the pen is open and the sheep have been allowed onto the moor. Caution must be taken on this stretch of road because any traveler will be captivated by the stunning views Blakey Ridge has to offer. Firstly of Danby Dale, Westerdale and Rosedale before dropping down into the picturesque village of Hutton Le Hole; Yorkshire sheep are natural residents of the moor and they roam freely till this point.
