Whitby’s Famous 199 Steps
A beautiful end to the day on the Yorkshire Coast. As the sun disappears behind Sandsend, an orange glow illuminates the sky above Whitby. This location half way up the 199 Steps offers a fantastic view over the historic whaling port of whitby, and down the Jurassic Coast and Whitby Beach. Made even more famous from by Bram Stokers novel “Dracula” these steps attract tourist all year round, and they take great joy in climbing them to see the Whitby abbey above, not before stopping half way to rest on the benches and take in the fantastic views over the town.
