Tate Hill Sands are famous for been where the Demeter, as Russian Schooner came ashore during a wild storm in 1885. All the crew were deceased and the captain lashed to the helm. As soon as Demeter hit the sands at Whitby a black dog came ashore and ran towards Whitby Abbey up the 199 Steps. A dog was one of the many forms a vampire could take, Bram Stokers Dracula had arrived in Whitby England!

All canvas prints bought from us are made using the Epson 9900. Its 11 ink printer system maximises the ground-breaking Epson Ultra Chrome HDR Inks with their massive colour gamut and DMax.

Colours are exceptionally vibrant with outstanding realism and have a lightfast rating of over 200 years. Our canvases are printed at a staggering 720 x 1440 resolution, which we could not take full advantage of using a canvas of mediocre quality. That is why the canvas we use is imported from the USA, for its superior print quality and longevity. It is a 450 GSM matt poly-cotton canvas that is OBA free and will not yellow overtime like an inferior canvas, it is also archival certified for over 100 years (click here for certificate).

Once printed our canvases are given a day for the ink to cure, it is then protected by a revolutionary Matt varnish to help protect against UV light scuffs and abrasion. Once dry the canvas is carefully hand stretched around a 38mm thick kiln dried solid pine frame and then tensioned using wedges. Finally the back is sealed and a stylish bronze hanger is fitted for ease of hanging.

Mounted photos are produced on our large format Epson 9900 printer which takes full advantage of the Epson Ultra Chrome HDR Inks. These 11 different inks produce images with a superb colour gamut and vibrancy that are printed at a staggering resolution of 2880 x 1440, the final result is an image you can almost walk into.

The photo paper used, as you might expect, is the best Matt paper available and is used by some of the top photographers in Europe. It is Fotospeeds 300 GSM acid free smooth cotton fine art paper. Photos may be cropped slightly to fit the mount, if you would like to see a preview of the crop before you buy please ask.

The A4 mounted print has an overall size of 14” x 11” and the A3 mounted print has an overall size of 20” x 16”, both mounts fit standard size frames that are readily available in most retail outlets.
