Staithes Cottages Sunset
A glorious evening catching Staithes Cottages Sunset over Roxby Beck. This is one of a number of photographs taken that evening; including a panoramic view of Staithes. Staithes is a special place for me having lived here for a few years and having family in the village. It is also very popular with tourists now; following the Captain Cook story. Also admiring the historic and charming cottages; often built into the hill side. Many of the Cottages in Staithes are now Holliday homes. People visit from all over the world; also enjoying trips to nearby Whitby; and the North Yorkshire Moors. There is plenty of activities in Staithes from fishing trips to visiting the many craft shops and restaurants. Staithes also now has an annual Heritage Weekend where many of the cottages are transformed into mini Staithes galleries. The lifeboat weekend also brings people to Staithes in the thousands.
