Runswick Bay Summer Morning
Early on a summers morning at the beach at Runswick Bay; not many other places i personally would like to be. Setting my alarm on this morning and traveling the short distance; and was so pleased i did as a warm summer glow lit the sky. Runswick Bay has something for everybody but probably most famous for the thatched cottage by the sea. Lady Palmers Cottage has one of the most charming buildings Yorkshire has to offer; nestled into the cliffside with views over the golden sands. The Bay is visited by the Cleveland Way Trail which passes along the cliff and down onto the beach. Runswick village itself is very similar to Staithes and Robin Hoods bay; and shares a heritage. Many of the Yorkshire Coasts fishing Villages had a connection to the smuggling trade; which was rife in the 18th century. Now the coasts fishing villages benefit from tourism to Yorkshire; the appeal of the coast been helped by the proximity to the North Yorkshire Moors.
