Penny Nab Staithes
Penny Nab Staithes on a late summers evening. Penny Nab offers a fantastic view of Staithes Harbour. The fishing boats lay on the beach; stranded until the next high tide. Once this harbour would have been crammed; with traditional Yorkshire Cobbles. Staithes in fact was one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK. Todays main industry is Tourism; Staithes is visited by people from all over the world. Many of the Cottages in the village have now been converted into holiday homes by the sea. Thousands descend on the village for the annual lifeboat weekend. Staithes now also has an heritage weekend which is hugely popular. The Cleveland Way comes past here at Penny Nab and threw the village; on the leg from Whitby to Saltburn.
